RICHARD VASQUEZ aka. Dr.Love has been a deejay since Studio 54.

In New York City he was featured in many legendary nightclubs, his career culminating with his own Manhattan club “The Choice.” It is remembered as a very important foundation that featured the new electronic music called “House”. Richard was one of the first to feature artists like Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Louie Vega and many more long before most people ever heard of house music.

When Richard moved to Miami Beach in 1995 he found that the Miami Clubs did not offer much opportunity for the more sedated sound from the New York Dance Music scene but the hotels, restaurants and lounges were very open to it. Here he began shifting the emphasis of his music skills from clubs to situations and venues that called for different programming. The vibe was about considerations to having the right volume, the right energy, and the most stimulating and varied sounds for that particular time of the day or evening. 37 years of joyfully playing music for people brought exceptional skill to the art of creating soundtracks for entertainment venues.

Above all, you can expect Richard to have the sensitivity to the many kinds of musical tastes a situation may present. Experiences with many different sound systems and rooms provide him with the knowledge to make each event the most enjoyable for everyone.

The music selections can range from the most recent producers of electronic dance music or the most enduring classics of dance music from all eras. It includes elements of Funk, Latin, Brazilian, Disco, Tech, Jazz, Soul, Afro, and Lounge.I t is always fresh and intelligent.

At the atart of 2011 Richard posted an album of dance tracks he had been working on for awhile on Sheeva Records. "XaltedTrax" s a mix of Deep Tech House grooves. it was a featured item on Beatport immediately. This is followed by an album also on Sheeva "The Producers Collection... featuring finds by several up and coming producer fro all over Europe.

Residencies include:

The Sunday Soiree at The Raleigh, SushiSamba, Nikki Beach Club and Pearl, Aquabooty, Level,Crowbar, Nocturnal, Kiss Lounge, Tantra, and guest appearances at The Vagabond,The Delano, The VanDyke Café, The Forge, Glass Lounge,Touch and many others in Miami.
